the fourth of july

we started our independence day off early at a pancake breakfast made by the bishopric of the ward. although mister was disappointed there were no chocolate chips in his pancakes it was nice to eat breakfast with the family.
after relaxing at home for a little while, we headed over to my parents house to get some lunch at chick-fil-a.
i had my regular, original sandwich with provolone and mayonnaise. it was an especially good one!
the rest of the afternoon was spent sitting on the front yard with the dog brothers and sister, napping, and bike-riding.
We had hamburgers and hot dogs with potato salad, baked beans, and really yummy corn for our BBQ dinner, and finished our night with backyard smores and watching fireworks on t.v.!
I'm so grateful to live where i do and for all the brave men and women who serve to protect this great country that we live in. God bless America!

p.s: i love my new shoes. they are salt water sandals and i used to wear them all the time when i was a little girl. i have been wanting to get a pair for a while, but never did & then my mom found a brand new pair at the thrift store. LOVE them, & i'll probably be wearing them for the rest of the summer.
